I enjoy the freedom of 4 livery companies, 3 associated with my career and passion for education and the Ironmonger’s with whom I have had a long standing relationship due to our mutual interest in King Edward’s Witley. I am also delighted to be the sponsoring Alderman of the newly formed Guild of Human Resource Professionals, not least given Lindy's career in HR.
I was Master of the Worshipful Company of International Bankers (2017/18) which is my mother livery. I chaired the Finance Committee for 2 years and I led a governance review of the livery following our first 10 years as a company which resulted in the introduction of formal elections to the Court and the nomination of Court Observers to Court meetings to increase transparency.
Having qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1985, I was delighted to be invited to join the Worshipful Company of Chartered Accountants in 2012 and now serve on the Court, having recently participated in the future strategy working group.
I became a Freeman of the then newly formed Guild of Educators in 2006 and an inaugural Liveryman on the granting of the Company’s Livery status in 2013. I was elected onto the Court in 2015 and provide financial guidance to the company.
I was delighted to join the Worshipful Company of Ironmongers in 2014 having built up a close relationship with the Company and several liverymen over the past decade. The Ironmongers generously sponsor a bursary pupil at King Edward’s Witley through an endowment set up in 2007. In addition to supporting the educational endeavours of the Company, I now serve as a Court Assistant.
Lindy is a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Glovers, not least because she delights in wearing gloves. She is also an Honorary Freeman of the Guild of Human Resource Professionals.
